Frequently Asked Questions from Anxious Patients

Should I feel ashamed about my dental anxiety?

No, absolutely not. Dental anxiety is very common — approximately one in five people in Germany is affected. There is no reason to feel ashamed. Our team is trained in working with anxious patients and meets you with understanding.

Can I just talk at the first appointment without any treatment?

Yes. We explicitly offer introductory appointments where no treatment takes place. You can get to know the practice, ask questions, and calmly decide whether you feel comfortable with us.

What happens if I become anxious during treatment?

We agree on a stop signal with you. A simple hand signal is enough, and we stop immediately. You set the pace — not us. Regular breaks are possible at any time.

Do you offer sedation or general anesthesia?

We are happy to inform you about sedation options. When needed, we work with specialists to provide you with an anxiety-free treatment experience. Discuss this at your introductory appointment.

How long does an anxiety patient appointment take?

We schedule more time than usual for anxiety patients. An introductory appointment takes approximately 30 to 45 minutes. Treatment appointments are also planned with generous time buffers so that no time pressure arises.
